Clan MacGregor Bottling Note
This is a 1 litre bottling of Clan MacGregor blended Scotch whisky - a good value-for-money blend right here, folks. Plenty of dark sugar, toasted nuts and a subtle grassy note on the nose, followed by dried fruit, white pepper and chewy toffee on the palate.
Clan MacGregor
tastes exceedingly Scotchy to me, so I was surprised that most reviewers call it simple and bland. It's a cheap blend and therefore more grainy than malty, but it's still got those weird fetid tobacco notes and maybe even a little maple syrup. Grant's award winning flagship blend, first created in 1898 by William Grant and these days based around grain whisky from Grant's own Girvan distillery.
Grant's Family Reserve Bottling Note
A blended whisky from William Grant & Sons, this was awarded a Silver medal at the 2007 International Wine and Spirits Competition.
Tasting Note
The nose is quite soft and light. There are notes of malted barley and toasted cereals with the requisite sweetness. The palate is of good body and quite sweet. There are notes of toffee and caramel with vanilla fudge and a touch of gentle, supple oak. The finish is of medium-length.
