Collin Bourisset Morgon "Les Trois Porches" 2013 750ml
Description
Collin Bourisset Morgon"Les Trois Porches"
Morgon, like Fleurie, is one of the more famous of the Beaujolais Crus. But where wines from Fleurie usually are fresh, floral with plenty of fruit, Morgon is all together more earthier. Still very silky and smooth, this Morgon from Domaine Collin Bourisset is quite full and fleshy with ripe cherry and softer flavours of apricot.
Hand-picked grapes exclusively with a strict selection of the grapes. Most of the bunches that are put into tanks are entire but some of them are destemmed. Long traditional fermentation (10 to 15 days). Bottling after 8 to 10 months maturation in tanks and wooden tuns.
Tasting Notes:
Appearance - Carmine colour with a nice intensity.
Nose - Black fruits (blackberries, blueberries, blackcurrants) and liquorice aromas when the wine is young and then it starts building up nice cocoa aroma.
Mouthfeel - The mouth is full and gets round as it ages.
Palate – It is a strong wine and thus it surrounds the mouth with a strong taste of fresh berries and liquorice.
Finish – The wine leaves a lingering taste of berries accompanied with a good long- lasting freshness.
Food Pairing - This powerful wine goes perfectly well with noble meats like roasted beef, leg of lamb and chicken from Bresse.
