Ma-Udhyami: Entrepreneur Stories
The road to becoming a successful woman entrepreneur is riddled with obstacles but many have taken the onus to persevere and succeed against all odds. Leaping through the deep-rooted patriarchy, sexist policies, and male privileges in running a business is definitely not an easy feat. These women entrepreneurs, however, have powered through and are here to share their experiences on how one can emerge as a winner with determination and passion even during crisis such as COVID-19 pandemic.
The constant growth of e-commerce which was further driven by COVID 19 restrictions, has led business owners to rethink their business strategy to accommodate more online selling strategies. Businesses that are not online could be losing out on opportunities to increase customers and get the word out about their business. Thus, “MA-UDHYAMI” as a part of the project “Revitalizing Women’s Businesses Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic” was started to digitalize selected women’s business as a pilot project. The project is being implemented by Federation of Woman Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal (FWEAN), together with Enterprise for Management, Economic Reform and Gender Equality (EMERGE) and Thulo.com, and is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
