PHOSPHATE SOLUBULIZING BACTERIA (PSB) are a group of beneficial microorganisms capable of hydrolyzing organic and inorganic insoluble phosphorus compounds to soluble Phosphorous (P) form that can easily be assimilated by plants. Normally around 60% of phosphorous in phosphatic fertilizer (like DAP) cannot be absorbed by plants. PSB provides an ecofriendly and economically sound approach to overcome the P scarcity and its subsequent uptake by plants.
- MODE OF ACTION
It hydrolyzes organic and inorganic insoluble phosphorus compounds to soluble Phosphorous (P) form by releasing organic acids. It increases the soil fertility and inhibits the growth of the harmful pathogens.
