The girl with the aid of her dedicated teacher, Anne Sullivan, discovers the world through her fingertips. She feels the beauties of nature without her eyes. She comes to realize the harsh realities of life without the sense of hearing. Helen Keller, the girl in the novel, tells how she overcame several hurdles that came her way owing her visual and hearing deformities. The book in itself is an epitome of grit,courage, determination, dedication, devotion, discipline, self confidence and last but not least.
