Description
Chateau Haut Gravet Saint Emilion Grand Cru AOC 2009
Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wines are produced under slightly tighter production restrictions than regular Saint-Emilion wines. As with other Grand Cru appellations, the intention behind this is to improve the quality, and to distinguish the area's finer wines from the more everyday wines.
From 40 year-old vines of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, this wine presents a delightful freshness and purity, extracted from the gravel and clay-limestone soils the vine roots reach deep into for minerals. The fruit on the wine is fresh and pure, with flavors of dark berries and elegant tannins. A certain mineral undertone hints at the flint soils in a most seductive way. A true pleasure…

Appearance – Deep ruby color with crimson hues.
Nose - Ganache and fig paste notes melded together at the core, framed by toasty apple wood aroma.
Palate - Velvety and ripe, exhibiting mocha, blackberry and fig sauce notes that glide along, while spice and cocoa fill in the background.
Finish – There is a strong taste of edgy mocha that lingers on the finish.
Food Pairing – The wine goes well with Beef, Lamb, Spicy food, Poultry and Pork.
